Musicians, Singers, Poets, Storytellers, Comedians... Come to Pedal Pushers
for Tom’s Open Mic Nite from 6-8pm on Sundays to showcase your talent,
or enjoy that of others. All styles
of music and skill level are welcome (you gotta start somewhere!). Typically each act plays two songs, but you never know what might happen as some nights performers may surprise
us by collaborating spontaneously with other musicians and the audience demands more.
OPEN MIC NITE HOUSE RULES:
¯ Sign-up starts at 5:30. You must be present to sign up. No phone calls please.
¯ Mics, amps and speakers are supplied.
¯ Sets are limited to 10 minutes (talk time included) per act, usually 2 songs. If
there is still time, you might be able to perform again.
¯ Please, no harsh language, your listening audience often brings children.
¯ Respect the other listeners and keep your voice down while others are playing. Please
help us enforce this rule. Do
not play your instrument or rehearse your singing while others are performing.
¯ Tune your instruments before you get on stage and
be ready to perform when your turn comes.
¯ We
ask that you not add harmonies, sing loudly, or play instruments during another musician's performance unless specifically
invited to do so by the performer currently on stage.
¯ Singers are encouraged to perform songs that they've written. You may offer your work (book, cd, etc) for sale to
the audience.
¯ If you attend Open Mic Night and the list is full, you can request a "Rain Check" which allows you advanced
sign-up on next weeks Open Mic Night.
¯ THIS IS NOT KARAOKE- While we welcome all vocalists to sing a-cappella or with a self produced
pre-recorded track- singing along to a store bought CD is not what Open Mic is about.
